I was so excited when I heard Barbie was launching a bold campaign featuring their widely praised “You can be anything” to Australia. Barbie has had many career paths, she has been a Movie Star, Hairdresser, Vet, Police Officer, Mermaid plus many more (about 180)
I was Barbie obssesed when I was young, my sister and I spent many hours playing Barbies. And just recently I have noticed Emmy playing with Barbies, getting lost in role playing, which is so important for children’s development.
I asked Emmy what she wants to be when she grows up, her first answer was “a strawberry” quickly followed by “a chef”. She loves helping me in the kitchen and we bake together at least once a week.
To celebrate the campaign, Barbie is running a competition for one lucky kid to win a personalised $10,000 experience to help them with their dream. Head over to http://www.barbiecompetition.com to enter.
Thanks to my friend Tara Dixon for snapping Emmy doing what she loves… Baking and playing with her Barbies.
Rolling http://www.burntbuttercakes.com.au famous fondant icing, thanks for the recipe ladies.
One day Emmy hopes to make a cake just like this one.
